Price increase of carbon credits

Hi Greentrippers!

A lot has changed in the last few weeks in the voluntary carbon market.

The good news is that more and more companies want to give back to nature and commit to climate neutral or 'net zero' targets.

Project developers are very enthusiastic about this, but the consequence is that the demand for carbon credits is growing faster than the number of available carbon credits. As a result, the prices of carbon credits have risen sharply.

With the higher prices, we can continue to develop more climate projects and thus have more impact on the local communities and the climate. Moreover, this price increase will make companies take more actions and try to change their behaviour. Companies that have included a carbon price in their strategic decisions will have more incentives to take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

As a result, Greentripper has no choice but to adjust the prices of our carbon credits for CO2 compensation of trips on Greentripper from January 1, 2022 in order to be able to deliver our projects partners a price that better reflects on the current market. This price increase varies according to the type of projects and the region. In any case, please be confident that we are fully committed to bring the best value for both our climate projects as well as our corporate partners and travellers who want to reduce their impact on the climate . We need to raise the climate ambition if we want to limit the temperature increase , and this also implies accelerating the development of ambitious climate reduction projects in developing countries.
